What customers say?

“ The owner is incredibly friendly. There may be 9-10 tables, but he doesn't let them all fill up because he cooks and serves and wants to take care of everyone. For appetizers, he brought us a plate full of cold cuts, fresh porchetta, beef sausage, and coppiette. He told us where each one came from (this from the butcher in the square...all local products). They were delicious, everything was delicious! For starters, he offered us homemade gnocchi "seasoned however you like." (When we arrived, he asked us, "How hungry are you?" and we said, "VERY Hungry!" So he suggested a pasta that would cook quickly.) We had a matriciana and a gricia pasta dish—AMAZING! For main courses, we tried tripe, and that was a real "wave." He brought us some delicious donuts with coffee and grappa. You can tell he cooks with passion. ”

“ A family lunch on a wet Saturday afternoon was totally brightened up with our special meal. Alessandro's relaxed way was very homely and interesting. We didn't know what was on the menu until it was served. It didn't matter because everyone was very well fed with beautiful food. We went with family who live in Rocca and we will eat there again. Alessandro has promised me he will make his famous oxtail Ragu sauce next time. ”

“ La Sargiada, the highest trattoria in the Castelli Romani! A welcoming and family-friendly place, Ciccio is a very friendly character who has dubbed himself a One Man Restaurant, meaning he makes everything himself. Here you can enjoy typical Roman dishes such as gricia, cacio e pepe, sugo di coda, pajata, matriciana, carbonara, and more, usually served with fresh pasta like tonnarelli, fettuccine, or cellette, a typical local pasta made with water and flour, similar to Tuscan pici. I especially recommend the cellette cacio e pepe with mint and lemon, a unique delicacy. For main courses, tripe, coda, saltimbocca, scallops, baked chicken or chicken with peppers, the ever-present breaded slices, facioli with pork rind, and more. And then there are cured meats, primo sale, porchetta, coppiette, and more. All strictly local, non-industrial products. The restaurant is small, so reservations are required. Not to be missed. ”

“ I had a visit nearby, and given the time, I decided to check out this little place with a string of super-positive reviews! Alessandro, aka Ciccio, is definitely a unique character, but brilliant at what he does. The dishes are traditional Roman-Jewish, but with just the right touch of reinterpretation. He works alone, so without illusions, managing the dining room and the serving of dishes with expert skill. Rather than making you wait needlessly, he prefers to have you come back after half an hour if necessary. His international background and the fact that he's worked in internationally renowned restaurants are definitely his highlight. Another of his distinguishing features is his "no stress" philosophy, so it's essential to understand that if you're in a hurry, it's best to avoid this place—not so much because the service can be slow, on the contrary! But precisely because Ciccio embraces a lifestyle based primarily on the needs of human well-being. Here you'll find fresh figs straight from the farm to the table, top-quality cured meats like few others these days, fresh pasta, and, according to other diners, excellent main courses. I don't like to write long reviews, but on this occasion it was definitely worth it. See you in September during mushroom season! ”

“ Good morning everyone Today I want to tell you about a small restaurant in the center of Rocca Priora A real gem that you absolutely have to try The restaurant or rather the trattoria is a very small place with about 25 seats that does excellent popular Roman cuisine. The manager is very nice, polite and very generous and altruistic, I had a great time. I had a plate of gnocchi with white ragù and a side of green beans in sour sauce. The food is simple, but very tasty, flavorful and well cooked, absolutely recommended. ”

“ The food, the chef, the place everything about our experience here was wonderful! We were a family of 4, we got salads, pastas, steak, and delicious tender meat cooked for hours! You can taste the love in every dish! ”

“ A simple and pleasant atmosphere in a cool and well-furnished former stable. Alessandro/Ciccio prepares excellent dishes in his small open kitchen and is very friendly with his customers. For lunch, we had excellent gnocchi with oxtail sauce and white ragù. We also had oxtail as a main course, and green beans as a side. Everything was delicious. It's truly a great place to be. Highly recommended! ”

- Maurizio Saiella -

“ What an experience! This place won't feel like you're eating in a restaurant, but rather like you're at home! The dishes are truly excellent, homemade, and authentic, just like Ciccio, who will keep you company all evening, making you feel right at home. One dish is better than the next. Highly recommended! ”
